CLASE 2010

The Leaders in Action for Education Summit CLASE 2010 is a joint initiative from Social Commitment for Quality in Education and the Educational Promotion and Research Institute. Its aim is to open up a new forum for dialogue, proposals and innovation in the area of education and to become a movement with enough momentum to bring about a new paradigm for educational debate in the country.

How do you persuade leaders whose goal is to lead their countries in the near future, and those who have influence over them, to bring this debate into the 21st Century and widen their outlooks? How do you make decision makers and opinion leaders within the country look beyond arguing for arguments sake and usher in up-to-date and cutting edge visions on how to create skills and human capital? How do you ensure technology is used as a major part of the educational reform, leaving behind accumulated experiences? The challenge is daunting.

CLASE 2010 is not just another congress, but rather a real forum for listening, talking and proposing ways in which we can promote a new educational agenda. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts and intellectuals from Mexico and around the world with one aim in mind: creating and promoting agreements which will make education a priority in our country.

We all know that systematic change is necessary in education, including the developement of new practices and new technologies in the classroom. It is time that Mexico rethinks and starts to reinvent its schools. It is time that new teaching models are found. It is time for education to become a national priority.

Let’s listen to the future!
